Rise Together!

Rise With Us!
We know that the most powerful way to create sustained economic vitality is to invest in our innovators, entrepreneurs and businesses. The Black Butterfly Network and Exchange is doing exactly that in Baltimore. Since launching in 2021, we have trained and supported 60 of Baltimore’s Black businesses and grown a network of mutual abundance where business owners support each other to thrive. We have built a platform which hosts nearly 500 of Baltimore’s Black Businesses and offers on average 800 active resources aimed at supporting these enterprises.

Our Approach

Andy Stoll, Senior Program Officer at The Kauffman Foundation, shared, “The Black Butterfly Network in Baltimore is one of the most unique, innovative and forward-thinking efforts in equitable entrepreneur-focused economic development that I’ve seen in the country.” In just two years we have been able to prove that this approach applied to Baltimore Black businesses has the capacity to change both the trajectory of the individual enterprises and of Baltimore itself. All of the 60 entrepreneurs who have participated in our cohorts are still in business.

Here is How:

Get Involved

Initial investment to prove our model was provided by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, the T. Rowe Price Foundation, and the Open Society Institute - Baltimore. Now is the time to take this model to scale to maximize the impact for Baltimore’s Black businesses. The elements comprising this initiative provide a powerful opportunity for collaboration with corporate partners. We are committed to building a sponsorship package that aligns with the goals of each institution. Below is a model of the kinds of opportunities that are available for sponsorship at varying levels.

We welcome a conversation to explore building together.
